CHAIN UKI
CHAIN UKI (Care of HIV and Ageing Implementation Network UK and Ireland) brings together a multidisciplinary coalition of healthcare professionals and researchers, from across the UK and Ireland. The membership includes HIV specialists, geriatricians, pharmacists, physiotherapists and HIV nurse practitioners, as well as HIV-focused academics.
Our members are committed to addressing the complex challenges faced by older adults living with HIV, including comorbidities, potential for multi-facetted stigma, and the nuances of geriatric care in the context of HIV.
Chair
Jaime R. Vera – Professor in HIV Medicine at the Department of Global Health and Infection, Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
Jaime is also the clinical lead physician for the combined HIV and memory clinic in Brighton. Jaime’s research focusses on the study of comorbidities affecting people with HIV such as cognitive impairment and frailty including the development of innovative models of care aimed at improving quality of life, and mental well-being of older people with HIV in both low and high-income settings.
